Frank Honda & Toyota Auto Repair is an independent, family-owned shop on El Cajon Boulevard, and our team brings 40+ years of combined Honda and Toyota experience to every Camry, Tacoma, and Prius that comes through the door.
A lot of our Toyota customers plan to keep the car for the long haul and would rather not pay dealer prices to do it. That is exactly the kind of work we like. We are not a dealership, and we will not push services your Toyota does not need. We tell you what needs attention now, what can wait, and what is honestly fine. When we replace a part, we can show you the old one next to the new one, so you can see exactly what you paid for.

Toyota hybrids, including the Prius
Toyota hybrids are some of the most dependable cars on the road, and we service them, including hybrid battery service. If your Prius, RAV4 Hybrid, or Highlander Hybrid is showing a warning light, losing fuel economy, or just due for maintenance, bring it by. A hybrid does not have to mean a trip to the dealership.
Honest, up-front pricing
Every job gets a written quote before any work starts, so there are no surprises. Many quick inspections, like brake and maintenance checks, are free. A full diagnostic is $150, and we credit that amount toward the repair if you have the work done with us. Air conditioning and electrical diagnostics are the exception: those are $150 and the fee is not credited back, because tracing an A/C or electrical fault is the work. Most repairs are covered by our 12 month / 12,000 mile warranty; engine, transmission, and AC repairs carry their own terms, spelled out in writing on your estimate before you approve anything.

We welcome walk-ins, and honestly we prefer them. Early drop-off is available if that fits your day better. We are open Monday to Thursday 8:00 am to 5:30 pm, Friday and Saturday 8:00 am to 4:30 pm, closed Sunday. Hours may vary on holidays, so call ahead.

Do you work on my Toyota?
If it is a gas or hybrid model, yes. Toyota is one of our core makes, alongside Honda, Lexus, and Acura, and the Camry, Corolla, RAV4, Tacoma, Prius, 4Runner, and Highlander are daily work for us.
Do you service the Prius and other Toyota hybrids?
Yes, we service Toyota hybrids, including hybrid battery service. That covers the Prius as well as hybrid versions of the RAV4, Camry, and Highlander.
Is my Toyota due for a timing belt?
Some Toyota engines use a timing belt and some use a chain, and it depends on the model and year. Timing belts are a specialty here, so bring it by or call and we will tell you where your engine stands.
How much will it cost to look at my Toyota?
Many quick checks, like brake and maintenance inspections, are free.
