Frank Honda & Toyota Auto Repair is an independent, family-owned shop on El Cajon Boulevard, and Hondas are what we know best. Honda models and services we handle
We service Honda gas and hybrid models, from a high-mileage Civic or Accord to a family CR-V, Pilot, or Odyssey. Common Honda work here includes:

A lot of newer Hondas are hybrids now, including hybrid versions of the Accord, CR-V, and Civic. We service Honda hybrids, hybrid batteries included, so you do not need the dealer for that either.
If you need tires, a wheel alignment, or a smog check, we do not do those in-house, but we can arrange them through our partners. We also service Toyota, Lexus, Acura, and all Japanese makes.
How our pricing works
Two simple paths. Quick inspections, like a brake check or a look over your maintenance schedule, are free. If your Honda needs real diagnostic time, say a check engine light or a rough idle that comes and goes, diagnosis is $150, and that $150 is credited toward the repair if you have the work done here. Air conditioning and electrical diagnostics are the exception: those are $150 and the fee is not credited back, because tracing an A/C or electrical fault is the work.
Either way, nothing happens to your car until you have a written quote in hand and you have said yes. That is a standing promise, not a slogan.
Most repairs are backed by a 12 month / 12,000 mile warranty. Engine, transmission, and AC repairs carry their own terms, spelled out in writing on your estimate, so there are no surprises later.
Walk-ins welcome
You do not need an appointment. Walk-ins are welcome, and honestly, we prefer them. Early drop-off is available if that fits your day better.

Do you service Honda hybrids?
Yes, including hybrid battery service. If your hybrid is showing a battery warning or losing fuel economy, bring it by and we will take a look.
My check engine light is on. What will it cost to find out why?
Diagnosis is $150, credited toward the repair if you have the work done here. The exception is air conditioning and electrical diagnostics, which are $150 and are not credited back. Quick checks, like brakes or a maintenance once-over, are free.
Do you do Honda timing belts?
Yes, timing belts are a specialty here. If you are not sure whether your engine is due, we can check it and tell you what it needs and when, in writing.
Is my high-mileage Civic or Accord worth fixing?
Usually, yes. Hondas are known for going the distance when they are maintained. We will give you an honest read on the car’s condition and a written quote, and the decision stays yours. No pressure either way.
